furniture makes history

by Robert Lemon

Stratford was once known for its thriving furniture industry. This set of moulded plywood dining chairs was made in Stratford at the Canadian Wooden Aircraft Company c.1946 when it retooled to make furniture after World War II. They were designed by W. Cserwinski and H. Sybolt and there is one in the collection of the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto.

This set will find a home in one of the guest rooms at seven&nine.
